The short version
- Little Peanut – Moments stores everything only on your device. There is no account, no app server, no advertising and no analytics or tracking service.
- We receive no data from the app – no photos or videos, no names, birthdays, measurements or notes.
- Data only leaves your device when you trigger it yourself – when you share a video or save a backup to a place of your choice – and via Apple’s iCloud if you use iCloud Photos or iCloud Backup.
- Visiting this website creates technically necessary server log files at our host Cloudflare.

2. The app: data processed on your device
The app processes the following data exclusively on your device so that it can work. We as the provider have no access to it.
| Data | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Name, birthday, colour and optionally a photo per child | Diary per child, age, monthly birthdays | App database on the device |
| Moments: reference to a photo or video in your library, chosen clip, note | Daily video diary, calendar, recaps | App database; the media stay in your library |
| Media details: capture date, iCloud identifier, dimensions, duration | “From this day”: finding the media of a day; finding media again after changing devices | App database and backup file |
| Milestones (name, height, weight, head circumference, highlight, photo), “Firsts”, projects | Memories and growth chart | App database |
| Settings (e.g. reminder time, length of a moment) | Operation | App database |
| Created monthly, yearly and project videos | Watching, saving, sharing | first in app storage, in your library if you choose |
New recordings are saved to your photo library (album “Little Peanut”) so there are no duplicate copies. Only if the app has no access to your library does a recording or a selected item stay as a copy in app storage. When you restore a backup, the app saves the media it contains to the album “Little Peanut”.
As this data does not reach us, we do not process it. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or crash reporting services and no tracking technologies, and does not connect to our servers or to third-party services. If a photo or video is only stored in iCloud, the app has it loaded via Apple’s Photos service (see section 4).
3. Permissions
- Camera and microphone: only to record a moment.
- Photos / library: to select, show and save your moments and videos. With limited access you only see the media you shared. The app does not read the location of your photos.
- Notifications: for local reminders (daily reminder, monthly birthday, month video and a note if you haven’t opened the app for a while). They are scheduled on the device; no push service is used. Notifications may contain your child’s name and, depending on your settings, appear on the lock screen.
Every permission is optional and can be changed at any time in the system settings. Without it, only the related feature is unavailable.
4. Sharing and backups
- Sharing: when you share a video, the system share sheet opens. You decide where the video goes (e.g. messenger, AirDrop, email); the terms of that service apply there.
- Backup: on request the app creates a backup file (
.lpmoments) with your entries and, if chosen, copies of the media. You decide where to save it. Restoring a backup replaces the app’s data. The file is not encrypted, and included media are unchanged copies – including embedded details such as the location, if the camera stored it. Keep it as safe as your photos. - System backups: independently, the operating system backs up app data automatically if you have enabled this – on iPhone via iCloud or computer backups. These backups are managed by Apple or by you, not by us.
- iCloud Photos: if you use iCloud Photos, Apple also syncs the recordings the app saves to your library. If a photo or video is only stored in iCloud, the system downloads it via Apple’s services when needed. Apple is responsible for this, not us.
5. Children’s data
The app is meant for parents who keep memories of their children. All information about the child stays on the parent’s device and is not transmitted to us.
6. Retention and deletion
The data stays until you delete it in the app (a moment, a milestone, a project or a whole child) or uninstall the app. Media in your library stay there until you delete them in the Photos app. Backup files are deleted wherever you saved them.
7. Purchase via the App Store
You buy and download the app via Apple’s App Store. Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland) processes your data as an independent controller under Apple’s privacy policy. We receive no personal data about you from Apple, only aggregated sales and download figures. If you have agreed in your iPhone settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple also provides us with anonymised crash and diagnostic reports that do not identify you.
8. This website
Hosting and server log files
This website is provided via the platform of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). When you visit it, Cloudflare automatically processes information your browser sends: IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, HTTP status code and amount of data transferred, referrer URL, and browser type, version and operating system.
This data is technically required to deliver the website and keep it stable and secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of the website. Cloudflare processes the data as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR). Log data is only kept as long as necessary for these purposes.
Cookies, fonts and tracking
We set no cookies ourselves and use no analytics, tracking or advertising services. The fonts (Bebas Neue and Nunito) are hosted on our own web space; no connection to font providers is made. To protect against attacks, Cloudflare may set technically necessary, short-lived security cookies (for example “__cf_bm”). The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
9. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your email address, your name (if given) and the content of your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to buying or using the app, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
10. Your rights
Where we process personal data about you (website and email), you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). We cannot give information about data in the app because we do not have it – it is entirely on your device, where you can view, export and delete it at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
11. Changes
If what the app or the website processes changes, we will update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.
